Our Admission Procedures

The single most important factor for admittance into Life Challenge of WNC is the attitude of the woman needing help.  A sincere desire to find spiritual help must be indicated when the applicant is interviewed.  We have found that until the applicant is willing to accept God’s help, we can not be of assistance in her recovery.

Our program is at least 12 months in length and we are usually filled to capacity.  The following requirements must be met in order to be considered for admission:

  1. The applicant must phone our admissions office to discuss her current situation with our intake coordinator and tell her why she feels the need to enter our program.
  2. The intake coordinator will have the interested person download the student application form from our website, fill it out and return it to us.  We will carefully review the application and will respond as quickly as possible.
  3. The applicant must also complete a counselor recommendation form. This form must be filled out by someone other than a family member. We prefer it be a probation officer, social worker, or someone with credentials.
  4. The part of the application process that takes the longest to complete is the physicians recommendation form. The physician form is basically a physical and blood work. Completion of this form lets us know the applicant is physically able to participate in the program. We encourage the applicant to start completing the required blood work as soon as possible.
  5. All interview appointments will be scheduled by the intake coordinator and set up during normal business hours unless special arrangements are made for a weekend appointment. You will not receive a phone interview until you have completed all the required paper work and lab tests.
  6. Being granted a personal interview in no way indicates acceptance into the program. The purpose of the interview is to discern whether or not the woman is truly ready to receive help and for us to determine whether or not we feel that our program would benefit the applicant.
  7. Our program requires that the applicant be completely off of all drugs and alcohol for at least three days prior to the interview.  We will not admit an applicant into our program that is severely intoxicated or sedated.
  8. Persons requiring medication or special medical attention will have their situation reviewed on an individual basis. We do not allow any psychotropic medication.
  9. After the phone interview is completed staff will get together, pray, and discuss the application. If the staff feels that the applicant would benefit from our program then a intake date will be given. If not then we will refer the applicant to another Christ-centered program. Please give staff at least 48 hours to pray and give you an answer.
  10. The intake date that is given is a final date. If the applicant is unable to make it on that date another date will not be offered.
  11. Due to the proven correlation between alcohol, drugs and tobacco addiction, we allow absolutely no use of tobacco products while in our program.  One of the goals of the program is to overcome all self-destructive addictions including addiction to tobacco. As always it is easier to cut back a little at a time than to do it cold turkey.  We suggest you go ahead and try to quit now.
  12. If accepted, a list of all necessary items such as clothing and toiletries will be discussed with the applicant.
